Our House Free Winter wear come pop up shop. Gift yourself or a family member a gentle used winter jacket today.
We’re thrilled to announce a new initiative for first responders and frontline workers (which includes ANYONE who works with the public) across the South Shore, thanks to a generous donation from the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia. The Tema Foundation has launched a peer support training program designed specifically for these communities and we are here to support that work!
This comprehensive program will equip peer supporters with the skills they need to offer support, build resilience, and create a network of empathy, active listening, and crisis intervention. Together, we’re building a culture where first responders and frontline workers can find strength, support, and solidarity.
Do you know someone in your community who has the compassion, resilience, and listening skills to make a difference? Nominate them to join our new peer support team for the South Shore Communities!
This team, comprised of trained first responders and frontline workers, will provide essential support to those facing the unique challenges of their roles. If you know someone who embodies traits like empathy, patience, and reliability, we want to hear from you!
Traits we’re looking for: Empathy
Active Listening
Trustworthiness
Effective Communication
Emotional Resilience
Let’s build a community of support, together. Nominate a peer today!
