Winter Clothing Drive and ShOP

2022 was the inaugural year for our Winter Gear Drive and Pop Up Shop or Swap. We received a wonderful out pouring of support from our local schools and community members with their generous donations. We dispersed nearly 400 coats through this initiative, and were proud to offer an accessible event in Barrington, Shelburne and Lockeport. We will be offering this program again in 2023.

An awesome, adventurous weekend at Windhorse Farm. Female-identifying youth age 13 to 15 joined us for this fabulous retreat July 23rd to 25th.

Blue Nose Marathon / Doctors Nova Scotia Youth Run

On Saturday, June 11th, Our House hosted the Doctors Nova Scotia Youth Run through the streets of downtown Shelburne. A mirror to the annual Halifax event, this was an opportunity for those who are unable to make it there. The response was brilliant with many youth and their families running or walking the 2km or 4km route. Myles, the Blue Nose mascot was in attendance and waiting at the finish line to greet every participant. Each child received a medal for their efforts because Everyone's a Winner!

SRHS pride March

Also on Saturday, June 11th, students from Shelburne Regional High School along with other community members, took to the streets to march in support of PRIDE. Again, Melissa provided the tunes while the students brought their excitement and enthusiasm. Congratulations to everyone on an amazing march filled with love, respect, and an awful lot of really big smiles. The students did a wonderful job organizing the event together and we couldn't be more proud.
